World Telemark Day:
World Telemark Day is a celebration of everything telemark from the authentic styles of telemark turns to the greatest community on snow. The first Saturday in March is the day telemark skiers throughout the northern hemisphere gather to ski together and raise a glass to the art form telemark skiers love so dearly. The trip is hosted by legendary telemark skier, J.T. Robinson as well as guides backcountry touring days.

Who is J.T. Robinson?
J.T. went to college at Utah's Weber State University, and graduated with a degree in finance. He went straight into a career as a professional backcountry telemark skier based in Utah for over a decade. J.T. co-founded Vertical Integration, and is a backcountry ski guide with Bear House Mountain Guiding and Inspired Summit Adventures. J.T. has worked in the Wasatch Mountains for nearly twenty years and is the ideal host and backcountry guide to experience the backcountry and World Telemark Day in Utah.

Alta, Utah:
Iconic Alta was and is an epicenter of telemark in America. Many telemark skiers call Alta home and the resort was pivotal in the telemark revolution in America in the 1980's and 90's that brought telemark out of the shadows of history and into the modern era of telemark in America. Alta is legendary in it's own right and every skier should have a trip to Alta on their bucket list as it embodies the soul of skiing and Utah's Greatest Snow on Earth.

Freeheel Life Shop:
The only telemark-specific shop of it's kind was founded and is owned by telemark icon, Josh Madsen. A tour of the shop and meeting Madsen is all part of this package deal that brings all that is good about telemark into the experience. The shop has all the latest and greatest telemark gear, clothing and swag as well as a space stocked full of used telemark gear and the ceiling and walls are also literally adorned with all sorts of gear from the history of telemark throughout the ages.

Lodging:
Lodging accommodations will be arranged at a one of the myriad of Salt Lake City's various lodging options in the bustling city at the base of the Wasatch Mountains. Walking distances to all of the attractions of downtown Salt Lake City, and with J.T. as the trip host the insider information to the options are plentiful to experience.

Lift tickets & Backcountry Access:
Lift tickets for Alta are included in the package as well as the backcountry ski guiding and access via Inspired Summit Adventures in Salt Lake City's Little Cottonwood Canyon backcountry and snowmobile accessed terrain in the vast wilderness of Park City's Uinta Mountains.

Transportation:
Rental cars, SUVs, vans, and trucks are available with various companies from Salt Lake City International Airport if personal transport is appealing. There is also a good public transit system that with some planning assistance from the trip host can allow for a ski trip without a vehicle at all! J.T. is ready to accommodate almost any requests to facilitate transportation services.

All in all, this trip is the best way to experience World Telemark Day and the Greatest Snow on Earth at Alta Ski Area, and in the Utah backcountry as well. Vertical Integration was built in Utah, and has a program that does World Telemark Day right. The northern Utah mountains are J.T. Robinson's backyard for nearly twenty years, and he works to keep everything organized, provides local resort knowledge, and guides your backcountry touring days.
